Student employee positions will be responsible for providing office and/or lab support to various departments across the college.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
Job functions vary based on the department that they are assigned to and the individual department needs. Department based student employment positions perform the following functions (not limited to):
- Respond to phone, walk-in and email inquiries related to WCTC’s admissions procedures and policies.
- Data entry; scanning and linking of documents using an imaging system. Incoming mail processing.
- Assist with outgoing mailings and other admissions projects as needed.
- other duties as assigned
-greeting and assisting students, staff and visitors
-answering phones/taking messages
-oral and written correspondence
-Must be enrolled as a current WCTC student
-Must have a minimum of 6 credits
-Must successfully pass criminal background check (cash handling and childcare positions only)
-Must be comfortable working and speaking with students from diverse backgrounds-Efficient time management skills and attention to detail-Excellent interpersonal communication skills-Ability to use technology to respond to student questions and look up informationSupplemental Information
Student employees may work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week during the school year. Office hours vary between Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Work hours will vary based on student’s schedule.
Student employees are not benefit eligible.
