Job Description Summary
The Communications Coordinator is a member of two Center operations, Penn Brain Science, Translation, Innovation, and Modulation Center (brainSTIM) and Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics (PCfN). The coordinator will play an integral role in developing and promoting both internal and external Center content, including updating and developing resources for websites and social media; drafting, formatting, and proofreading communications and marketing materials; and coordinating content production and stewardship documentation.

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist with drafting, formatting, and proofreading Center communications, including marketing and promotional materials
  • Assist with updates to Center websites, including refreshing content and creating new elements
  • Support the Center's front-line communication needs, including moderating listservs, generating newsletters including content, and responding to general inquiries via email or other media platforms
  • Manage all social media accounts including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, blogs, etc. to enhance overall presence
  • Coordinate and generate content (print, digital, audio/video) development and stewardship reporting
  • Seek Media and Marketing opportunities to promote and publicize work of Centers.
  • Other duties as necessary

    Position contingent upon funding.

    Qualifications

    Required:
    • A Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and professional communication skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with interpersonal engagement
    • Proactive, flexible, and innovative; can adapt to changing priorities and needs; ability to work under deadlines
    • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
    • Experience managing content across channels (web, social media) and formats (print, digital, audio/video)
    • Experience with CMS platforms (MODX, Wordpress, etc.)
    • Proficient in use of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator

    Preferred:
    • Background in Neuroscience/Science
    • Background in arts and culture
    • Video and audio digital editing experience
    • Experience using Google Analytics, Canvas, Salesforce, and Campaign Monitor
