Program Manager, Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement - Georgetown University

The Program Manager supports the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement (“OVPGE”) with relationship management, events planning, and administrative and strategic programmatic support. They help build and maintain key relationships with internal and external partners, oversee events from ideation, execution, to post-event follow-up, and work with members of the Global Communications Group on coordinating marketing and publicity efforts of events and programmatic activities, and managing communication outreach through web platforms, social media, and print media. Reporting to the VPGE, the Program Manager has duties that include but are not limited to:


Manage and assist in events preparation, execution, and follow-up - for example, scheduling and logistics, managing vendors, overseeing event budgets and payments, coordinating travel arrangements and accommodations, performing communications outreach via traditional and social media platforms, and serving as a representative of the OVPGE at events

Strategic Analysis
  • Oversee the production of research and reports in support of Georgetown's global engagement
  • Provide programmatic support to various strategic global initiatives and programs housed under the OVPGE

Relationship Management
  • Conduct email and phone correspondence in support of the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with key partners (internally including the Deans of Georgetown's schools and the Office of Advancement; and externally encompassing donors, foundations, and other universities)
  • Take notes at high-level meetings

  • Develop and oversee event and programmatic budgets, and develop post- event reports and analysis in collaboration with the Senior Business Officer
  • Assist in drafting and negotiating contracts

Supervisory and Other Tasks as Assigned
  • Oversee the work of 1-2 student assistants
  • Serve as a mentor to support their professional development
  • Perform other tasks as assigned, including supporting faculty grant competitions

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of work experience
  • Outstanding organizational, writing, and editing skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Interest in the global dimension of higher education

Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
