Duties:

Accountable for fiscal administration and control of numerous Federal, state and private source grant programs, in accordance with applicable legal and contractual requirements; responsible for assisting with grant budget development; determines allowable costs for grant programs; prepares financial statements and granting agency reports; compiles monthly grant billing; assists with preparing audit schedules; counsels and directs grant project directors regarding appropriate use of grant funds; ensures proper amount of indirect costs are recovered by the College. The Grant Accountant is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field. Two years accounting experience with a focus on grant accounting preferred.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures
  • Microsoft Office Skills, with advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, etc.
  • Knowledge of Federal Circulars
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average organizational skills
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
  • Knowledge of personal computer operations and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and interact effectively with faculty, staff and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work experience in grants accounting within higher education
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague
  • Experience with or knowledge of governmental or fund accounting

8:00am to 5:15pm

Minimum Starting Rate:

$52,570
