Position Description:

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Physical Chemistry at the Assistant Professor rank for Fall 2022. The successful candidate will teach physical chemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and establish/maintain an externally funded, nationally recognized research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. All positions are subject to availability of funds.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physical chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Relevant postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
  • A strong publication record.
  • The potential to establish an externally funded, nationally recognized research program.
  • The ability to teach physical chemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to develop a diverse and inclusive learning community.
  • Research expertise that complements the department.
  • Able to effectively mentor chemistry and biochemistry undergraduate and graduate students.
