Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:Recruits high school students to MSU through college visits, fairs, and meetings with prospective high school students.
• Inform, advise, and counsel prospective students and their families about the university.
• Make off-campus visitations to high schools and appropriate non-school programs to provide information about the university.
• Attendance at weekend and evening events.
• Participate in the panning of the recruitment plan for the office.
• Assist in the general administrative and, at times, clerical responsibilities of the office.
• Other job appropriate duties as assigned.
• Serve as the Lead Admission Counselor (for training of new staff)
• Provide information sessions for prospective students on evening and weekends.
• Organize leadership conferences/programming for minority students.
• Actively engage key personnel in civic organizations and businesses in MSU recruitment efforts.
• Assist with the oversight of student ambassadors, tele-counselors and student staff.
• Coordinate phone calls, emails, and general inquiry management for prospective students.
• Organize the family/guest programs during Racer Days and Summer Orientation
• Assist with coordinating multicultural recruitment, programming and communications
• Works with Associate Director to manage and develop processes to support the on campus visit experience for students and families.
• Supervise resources and assist staff designated for Multicultural student outreach and recruitment, including the Multicultural Student Recruitment Team.
• Train Office of Recruitment exempt and non-exempt staff regarding Multicultural student recruitment.
• Make off-campus visitations to targeted high schools, community colleges and appropriate non-school programs to provide information about the university.
• Assist in the design and production of Office of Recruitment publications, including the design of brochures targeting Multicultural recruitment.
• Assist with the management of the Multicultural recruitment budget.
• Co-advise the LEAD team.
• Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:• Student recruitment experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Attendance at events during nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
