Position Summary Your Family, Your Neighborhood (YFYN) is a dual generation curriculum designed to address academic success, and improve the health and well-being of families living in subsidized housing communities. YFYN is a twelve session practice-based curriculum delivered in the evenings to both parents and their children on site in their neighborhood. The curriculum focuses on developing the bond between children and their parents, developing parents attachment to schools, improving academic outcomes for kids, developing cohesive relationships in the community, and promoting the health and well-being of family members. The Parent Group Facilitator will lead the on-site delivery of the YFYN curriculum to parents/caregivers. The Parent Group Facilitator will receive training on the YFYN curriculum and will be expected to review each curriculum session before its delivery as well as attend team meetings as needed. The person that fills this position is expected to deliver the curriculum in an empowering and culturally relevant and respectful way to adult participants. The Parent Group Facilitator will assist with set-up and clean up for each curriculum session and other duties as necessary. The Parent Group Facilitator is under the supervision of the project manager. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The ideal candidate for this position will have strong program delivery, leadership and facilitation skills. Experience working with families of color and experience working in low-income neighborhoods are valued. Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with families and delivering social service programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred.
Working Environment
  • YFYN programing will be delivered at community sites throughout Denver.
Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is $18.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
