The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine is charged with conducting high-impact original biomedical research and translating the findings to clinical applications, and in educating future physicians and researchers. Our research addresses fundamental questions in cell and developmental biology, endocrinology, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and cancer biology. Collaborations have been established with clinical departments for studies that investigate various diseases including neurological diseases (stroke, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, and Guillain-Barre syndrome); psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia and autism); degenerative diseases (osteoporosis); cancer; and endocrinological disorders.
This position will support an NIH funded project using technical experience with in vivo 2-photon microscopy, transgenic mice, in vivo viral transduction, in vivo electrophysiological recordings, animal surgery, stroke and brain trauma animal models, immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy.
Academic rank, tenure status and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
