Detailed Description:	
Under general direction of the Senior Director of the Division of Professional and Continuing Education (PCE), the Director of Marketing serves as an integral part of PCE 's leadership team. In alignment with the university's strategic goals and priorities, the Director of Marketing will lead, envision, and communicate the development, implementation, and ongoing execution of recruitment and marketing efforts for PCE managed degree programs at the University of San Diego. Working closely with the Senior Director, partner schools, university key stakeholders, as well as with PCE Directors, the Director of Marketing will develop and expand coordinated marketing campaigns targeting graduate students. This position plays an integral role in leading and collaborating with campus partners, and internal teams on current and new programs. The Director of Marketing will provide leadership in designing, building, and leading PCE's graduate recruitment and marketing strategies and is expected to make sophisticated use of high-quality, data-driven, evidence-based enrollment and marketing decisions. This position requires a strong ability to anticipate and solve problems, create scalable systems and procedures, and be comfortable working in a hyper-growth environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Management

Ensure alignment of PCE's Mission and Vision with the University's strategic recruitment and marketing priorities.
In conjunction with Senior Director, design and ensure scalability of teams, systems, and processes to ensure the needs of a contemporary university are met.
Lead marketing strategies and campaigns that yield a quantifiable and significant return on marketing investments across a spectrum of advertising channels.
In conjunction with the Senior Director and Finance Director, develop and manage marketing budgets with the goal of optimizing return on marketing and retention investment.
Identify and make strategic recommendations regarding PCE marketing technology needs including CRM, SIS, website, and other major technology requirements.
Recruitment, Lead Generation, and Product Marketing Leadership

Lead an internal agency model designed to support all PCE programs to achieve marketing and recruitment goals.
Lead PCE's marketing strategy and efforts aimed at driving lead generation, inbound marketing, and conversion-centric marketing strategies and processes for student enrollments and purchases for new and existing programs.
Lead planning and implementation of program-specific strategic, integrated, and multi-channeled marketing plans for all PCE programs.
Lead new program pro forma development with the Senior Director and the Director of Finance.
In conjunction with the PCE leadership team and key stakeholders, prepare new PCE and partner program proposals.
Establish metrics to track enrollment goals and outcomes and develop multi-year and annual enrollment objectives.
Utilize best practices in admissions and graduate recruitment marketing management, while inspiring others to work collaboratively in achieving enrollment goals.
Drive marketing efforts, deliverables, annual budgets, and marketing plans across all PCE-supported programs. Ensure effective and efficient use of assigned resources.
Plan and oversee campaign media planning, budget allocation, lead source tracking (cost per lead, cost per student), weekly snapshots of results, and formal semester reports.
Assist retention in strategy, vision, and execution of proactive, integrated student retention efforts and experience including relating to but not limited to, email communications, phone calls, text messages, website communications, program collateral, student webinars, etc.
Customer Relations and Partnerships

Maintain trust and cultivate campus and stakeholder relationships.
Analyze student and internal partner experiences, define friction points, and create seamless outcomes.
Serve as PCE's primary advocate for "client-centered" standards and best practices to serve PCE's students and stakeholders.
Market Research, Enrollment Analysis, and Marketing Assessment

Develop and implement data-driven, metric-based marketing research, analysis and assessment tools for PCE.
Lead PCE's market research process to assist the leadership team and academic departments in setting programmatic priorities that exhibit the greatest opportunity.
Analyze market data for current and potential PCE-managed programs to set marketing strategies that optimize student recruitment and retention efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of five years of experience developing full-lifecycle marketing strategy, including end-to-end execution of comprehensive and integrated marketing campaigns.
Preferred experience in higher education marketing, client relationship management, or consulting experience.
Ability to manage, motivate, and teach staff and vendors to deliver high quality executions of campaign elements on multiple concurrent projects.
Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, and in the development of presentations. Ability to build, create, and experience developing executive-level briefs, presentations, and pitch decks.
Experience translating complex data into easy-to-digest findings.
Experience and strong knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Operational knowledge of information, data, and digital technology management and best practices.
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) including management of, and best practices in, working with CMS systems.
High level of budgetary and financial experience, which includes development of operational and marketing budgets.
Understanding of the administrative functions, academic programs, and requirements of a university.
Ability to negotiate and navigate highly matrixed and layered professional environments.
Demonstrated ability and comfort in delivering presentations to a wide of variety of audiences.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability.
Evidence of strong, effective, ethical, and collegial collaboration.
Experience enhancing community relations and promoting the role of the organization both internally and externally.
Experience building organizational structures and in organizational design.
Strong change management skills.

Thorough knowledge of the campus, including its mission, goals, achievements, infrastructure, programs, and policies.
Thorough knowledge of issues in higher education.
Thorough research and fact verification skills.
Thorough attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.
Special Conditions of Employment:
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends in order to meet project deadlines.
Must be able to work with all required technologies and tools.
