Student Employee, Office Assistant - Campus Police

Job Description:

Provide clerical support to the campus police, exercising a high level of discretion, professionalism, and customer service skills.

POSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Office Assistant - Campus Police

STATUS: Part time

DEPARTMENT: Campus Police

DIVISION: Administrative Services

REPORTS TO: Director, Campus Safety & Police Chief and Administrative Assistant, Campus Police


MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $11.00 per hour

(Position is FWS Eligible)

Essential Job Duties and Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with data entry and submitting bills for payment

2. Work with records department, filing

3. Maintain weekly police blotter

4. Assist with social media and public engagement activities

5. Assist with department payroll activities

6. Inventory and order office supplies

7. Assist department members with various projects on an "as needed" basis

8. Professionally interact with all department members, community members and external agencies

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current JJC student enrolled in 6 credit hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

2. Proficient in Microsoft, Power Point, Excel

3. Attention to detail. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

4. Professional appearance

5. Ability to follow the Chain of Command

6. Familiar with social media platforms

7. Able to work up to 20 hours a week, anytime between 8am-430pm, Monday through Friday

• Duties are performed indoors in the usual office environment.
