General Summary

The GameAbove College of Technology, School of Technology and Professional Services Management (STPSM) invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in the Aviation Technology Programs. The appointment will start in the Fall 2021 semester.

The successful applicant will teach an in-person section of Aviation Maintenance Management (AVMT 110) and other possible courses depending on availability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.

Perform related departmental duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum required qualifications include FAA issued Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics licenses with an Inspection Authorization. In addition, the applicant should have current professional experience in aircraft maintenance both for commercial and private aviation. Additional preferred qualifications may include FAA issued pilot certificates, supervisory experience in aircraft maintenance, and a working relationship with the local FAA District Office.

The department may approve exceptions or equivalencies that demonstrate sufficient background in academic research and/or professional accomplishments on a case-by-case basis.
