Employee must be a highly motivated, goal-oriented admissions professional who is a naturally persuasive, creative problem solver who thrives in an upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, the incumbent participates in the strategic planning and implementation of the admissions process for First time in college students, recruitment-related marketing, programs, and technology, and also assists in the awarding of student scholarships and financial aid. A self- motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills and with demonstrated ability to direct a team, follow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities and meet goals. This is a sales-like admissions environment with a prospect management approach to a designated recruitment territory where recruiters are expected to reach enrollment and net revenue goals assigned to them. As the senior member of the staff, the Associate Director will support office operations, coordinating processing and reading of admissions applications, and share responsibility of staff training and development, and other duties as requested. The Associate will be involved in all phases of admissions program, including travel, school visitation, territorial management and correspondence. Responsibilities will also include tele-counseling, interviewing, and application evaluation. Based on experience and office needs, the Associate Director may have staff supervisory responsibilities and will oversee one or more critical management projects such as, but not limited to, guidance counselor and private school relationships, leveraging vendor relations such as with Raise.me, Common Application, Coalition application, Admissions Committee liaison, athletics coordinator, or high ability student and other programs (ROTC, Bonner, etc.) recruitment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement virtual recruitment opportunities
  • Successfully manage the recruitment and enrollment of qualified students from a small designated territory
  • Meet or exceed all department goals
  • Represent the University in a speaking capacity at on-and-off campus student-parent programs; participate, as needed, in the general function of the office – student interviews, school visitations, college fairs, etc.
  • Work with department leadership to ensure that daily functions and responsibilities are being carried out by our admissions staff
  • Work closely and professionally with other departments on campus on issues including but not limited to, testing and ICUF articulations
  • Assist with staff recruitment travel
  • Show initiative and leadership in assuming new responsibilities, identifying enrollment opportunities, and setting a standard of professionalism for the admissions staff
  • Recommend policy and practices designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the admissions office
  • Represent the University in a professional manner to all constituents; and other duties as assigned by the VP of Enrollment
  • This position at the University entails duties related to the oversight of or responsibility for admission, certification of academic eligibility, and/or administration of financial aid for student- Stetson University is a member of NCAA Division I and of the Atlantic Sun (A-Sun) Conference and is, therefore, obligated to comply with NCAA and A-Sun rules and regulations. As such, compliance with Atlantic Sun Conference and NCAA rules in performance of these duties is paramount. Violation of these rules may result in disciplinary and/or corrective actions.

ROUTINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate admissions files in queues, and in committee and waitlist files
  • Extensive phone, email, texting, and chat/social media use and telemarketing, travel, and directive counseling for individuals and groups
  • Manage territory and perform
  • Conduct group and individual information sessions
  • Meet with families and daily visitors
  • Availability for evening and weekend work
  • Monitor and analyze metrics relative to the performance of the department such as travel metrics, file review, staff productivity, file bin movement, marketing analytics, etc.
  • Day-to-day supervision of select staff
  • Member of Faculty Admissions Committee
  • Coordinate with enrollment operations and monitor deadlines and procedures utilizing Smartsheets calendar

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Skills
  • Individuals proficient in a second language are encouraged to apply
  • Ability to exhibit grace under pressure
  • Exceptional management skills

This position requires a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record

Salary Grade 7

Completed COVID-19 Vaccine status required

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions
