The Position

The Applications Analyst/Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to; application to application integrations, services, internal and external API, file transfer, and EDI and SQL queries. The position is responsible for participating in requirements analysis and decomposition, design, development, internal testing, and the documentation of same for the application-application integrations. This position is instrumental in supporting accelerated growth at Unity College through maintenance, integrity, and troubleshooting existing systems and providing technical support to internal and external constituents for new application development efforts. This role will also back up support for other applications at the College. This role is a ‘hands on’ development role working with legacy systems and on projects to replace those systems with modern technologies. Development skills in .NET core are vital as well as the ability and desire to work in the trenches while modernization projects are completed.

Work with internal and external development teams to design, develop and support integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices.Analyze issues and resolve system defects.Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components.Write SQL code to retrieve/update appropriate data as derived from requirements.Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis.Facilitate system upgrades, new features and releases, enhancements, and changes.Work on enhancement projects as prioritized by the college Create, maintain, and continuously improve fields, views, reports, dashboards, campaigns, workflows, and other objects and functions within applications.Maintain applications’ system security and integrity, including account and infrastructure in response to marketing needs and workforce changes.Monitor application storage usage and archive data as needed.Provide user assistance and team training on applications throughout the employee life cycle.Proactively gather user requirements and feedback to enhance the user experience in applications. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will require an associate degree. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred

2 – 5 years’ experience with application development; at least 1-year Salesforce experience required.The following skills/competencies will be needed to be successful:• Stored Procedures

• Microsoft SQL server

• REST / A

• Salesforce SOQL

• Interface programming

• HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT

• Salesforce Administration

• Salesforce Apex

• ASP

• SSO – SAML

Strong client service and project management skills; must have the ability to communicate with both business and technical individuals effectivelyAbility to rapidly learn technical and business conceptsAbility to provide technical input and guidance to team membersAbility to present technical concepts to technical and business audiences.Commitment to high quality work and timely deliverablesProficient written and verbal communication skillsKeeps apprised of industry and digital trends as well as platform enhancements and applies this knowledge to business strategyValidating solution components and provide solution walkthrough with stakeholders; assist users with testingConducting solutions presentations and obtain customer acceptance to solution design

The Location

Unity College has its Hybrid Learning campus in Unity, Maine. As our distance education team rapidly grows, we have also acquired space at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine where our enterprise and distance education teams will be located. This position will be located at 49 Farm View Drive, New Gloucester, Maine.
