Reporting to the Associate Director, HR Client Services & Employee Relations the HR Client Services Administrator will provide HR administrative support to the Hofstra HR Client Services team and the Office of Student Employment. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service to our Faculty, Administrators, Students and Staff and insuring timely resolution of all HR related issues and requests. This is a visible role that requires the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times, possess a high level of professionalism and be customer service driven and flexible in attitude.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Serves as primary service owner for pre-employment background checks to include: Insuring timely submission into the ADP system, actively reviewing background checks in progress and following up with candidates and hiring managers on status as necessary.
•Provides tier one level support to Hofstra University employees, faculty and students as it relates to HR processes and procedures.
•Assists with job postings, screening applicants, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews and coordinating pre-employment testing when required.
•Provides support to the Manager, Learning and Development on various projects and initiatives.
•Assists in the review and preparation of the monthly ADP statement (background checks) and updates budget information as necessary.
•Primary contact for processing unemployment claims, subpoenas, employment and wage verifications, employment record requests ensuring such requests are handled within established timeframes.
•Maintains and completes reports and invoices associated with unemployment claims.
•Responsible for updating and ensuring the accuracy of organizational charts for all departments/schools on a monthly basis.
•Creates personnel files and prepares employment record in Banner as needed.
•Reviews new hire employment and payroll paperwork for employees and student employees insuring accurate completion for processing.
•Provides back-up reception coverage as needed.
•Maintains department office supply inventory and orders office supplies and business cards as needed.
•Completes other HR projects as assigned. Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required preferably in related field.
•Minimum 1 year related human resources experience or internships required.
•Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times, possess a high level of professionalism and be customer service driven and flexible in attitude.
•Proven ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven environment.
•Must be detail oriented.
•Capable of working independently with little supervision as well as serve as productive team member.
•Strong organizational and project management skills.
•Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and listening skills.
•Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
•Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products; specifically, Word, Excel, and Outlook
•Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
•Master’s degree preferred.
•Interest and aptitude in the field of Human Resources.
