Position Information: DescriptionThe College of Engineering & Mines at the University of North Dakota invites application for a postdoctoral fellow position to begin Fall 2021.  Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Geological Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely-related field. The candidate should have strong background in characterizing of materials and conducting high quality research. The postdoctoral fellow will also mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and contribute in proposal.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will pursue research in the area of high temperature materials, nanomaterials, sustainable materials, materials for geological applications and related fields.  Additional service in proposal writing, student mentoring will be expected according to the experience.

The post-doctoral fellow will work with a team of interdisciplinary faculty from Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Petroleum Engineering and Physics. It is expected the hire will conduct high impact research, write papers, manage lab, high quality papers, and collect data. The postdoc will also work with and mentor undergraduate and graduate students

    Excellent written and oral communication skillsBackground in collegial and collaborative interaction with diverse faculty and student teams
Minimum Requirements
    Ph.D. degree in Geological Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely-related field.  Successful completion of criminal history records check.
