Hollins University is seeking qualified candidates for three (3) full-time positions of Security Officer.  These positions provide security patrol services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year for the university.  The current vacancies work the 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. shift five days/week with rotating days off, or the 6 p.m. – 4 a.m. shift four days/week with rotating days off, but applicants must be able to work any shift with rotating days off.

Successful applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal U.S. residents eligible for employment; be at least 21 years of age; possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent; and have a valid U.S. driver’s license with minimal violations from state of residence.  Candidates must also have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong computer skills, and ability to work independently.  Applications are sought from candidates who have demonstrated success working with diverse populations, and candidates must be able to achieve and maintain Virginia campus security officer certification.  Applicants with law enforcement, campus security, private security, or related military experience are preferred.  Final candidates will be subject to criminal history and motor vehicle background checks.
