The Associate Clinical Education Director is a faculty member responsible for the local administration and oversight of the clinical education phase of the FSU PA Program at the FSU COM Pensacola Regional Campus. In addition, this position directly supports the University of West Florida (UWF)/FSU PA partnership.

Guides scholarly pursuits of students and provide academic and career advice to students. Participates in student selection and admissions process as well as participates in student orientation, recruitment events, student evaluations, and lectures. Remediates students in didactic and clinical areas when appropriate. Serves on program-specific committees. Participates in the development and implementation of activities designed to prepare clinical faculty and students to understand the expectations of the clinical phase of the PA curriculum. Collects all documentation regarding student supervised clinical practice experiences.

Serves as advisor to the UWF Pre-PA club. Serves as course director and teach the "Introduction to the PA Profession" course at the University of West Florida. Administers the FSU PA/UWF PA pipeline program. Provides advice and consultation related to PA practice and education to the UWF Dean of Health Sciences. Serves on PA program-specific and UWF committees.

Participates in scholarly activities resulting in publication and/or presentation at regional and national meetings. Attends appropriate state and national professional meetings. Serves as guest lecturer in Program and Institutional courses as invited. Serves as small group facilitator in program courses. Participates in scheduled COM, division, and UWF meetings.

Participates in program accreditation activities. Assists with the implementation of quality assurance practices to ensure continual curriculum and program assessment and evaluation as stipulated by ARC-PA. Additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or Regional Campus Dean.


PA-C (Master’s degree or higher), MD, or DO.

  • Current NCCPA board certification.
  • Current valid Florida Physician Assistant or Physician license, or eligibility for Florida licensure.
  • Knowledgeable in current practice, standards, and the roles of physician assistants.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • Current Florida or Georgia driver’s license or the ability to obtain.
  • Minimum three (3) years clinical experience.
  • Prior physician assistant education experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
