Job Summary

*Mascots must develop the character of the mascot for the team. They must perform at every home game.

*Commit to appearances at campus and community events to promote school spirit.

*Distribute UWG promotional items designed to help increase school spirit and attendance at games and events.

*Must maintain the Wolfie email account and also maintain the Wolfie Mascot Facebook account

*Personally interact with Wolves fans.

*Work events throughout the year, including summer .

They may also distribute promotional items, like T-shirts and calendars, at special events. Mascots may be required to maintain the integrity of their costumes, including cleaning and repair. Mascots must participate in the filming of commercials and other promotional videos. Light UA office work will be available if needed during downtime.

Required Qualifications

*Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.

*Ability to work scheduled event dates, including outside of semester if necessary.

*Must possess a highly personable disposition and animates personality with good interpersonal communication skills and creativity.

*Extensive night and weekend work will be required.

*Performing in a mascot costume is very physical, so you must be in good physical condition and be sure to drink plenty of fluids before the appearance.

*Must be in good academic standing and not subject to college discipline.

*Must be courteous, friendly, reliable, and punctual.

*Must be in a physical state that allows you to perform under extreme conditions

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to wear a large costume and is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. Must be able to fit into mascot costume. Costume will fit heights up to 6'2". The position requires mobility including the ability, while in costume, to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period. Physical environment of this position requires a person to be able to work in the hot, humid environment as well as in close quarters with their head covered and limited visibility due to required head gear of this position. Required to stand on feet for 1 to 6 hours at a time. Good physical condition.
