General Summary

The Call: Building on our history of excellence in leadership education, the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations (EAF) in the College of Education at Illinois State University seeks a culturally proficient, experienced, and effective Higher Education Administration scholar to join us as we prepare students from a variety of backgrounds to assume leadership and advance knowledge and research in the higher education enterprise with the aim to enhance equity and effectiveness of policies and procedures governing colleges and universities.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of this experienced colleague will be to: teach master’s and doctoral courses related to higher education and student affairs administration in a myriad of formats such as: on and off-campus, hybridized weekend cohorts and face-to-face; advise doctoral dissertations and chair and serve on comprehensive examination and dissertation committees; maintain an active research agenda and status as a graduate faculty member while providing service to the unit, college, university, and professional organizations in higher education and/or student affairs. Candidate may also have the opportunity to engage in program coordination.

Salary: Salary for this nine-month tenure-eligible position is commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications.

The Department: Educational Administration and Foundations (EAF) is an interdisciplinary department comprised of four main areas: PK–12 administration, higher education administration, research methods and evaluation, and educational foundations. Required Qualifications

1. Earned doctorate from an accredited university in higher education or closely related field
2. Five years’ demonstrated excellence as a tenure-track assistant professor
3. Ability to meet the department’s ASPT requirements for tenure and promotion
4. Have an established research agenda in higher education administration/student affairs as evinced by a robust record of peer-reviewed publications in higher education venues and presentations at national and international higher education/student affairs conferences.
5. Experience working collaboratively advising theses and dissertations and supporting graduate students, particularly historically excluded, marginalized and/or underrepresented students, and service on completed dissertation committees.
6. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
