Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in related field. Six years of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations of Financial Aid with the oversight of the Director. Performs highly complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning in the Financial Aid department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Directs program activities of staff in the Financial Aid department. Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities. Develops goals and objectives. Oversees and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals. Provides directives, evaluates performances, ensures State and Federal regulations are followed, enforces department and university policies, and resolves personnel issues. Develops departmental policies and procedures for personnel. Oversees implementation. Oversees schedules, priorities and standards for achieving goals. Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations. Directs and evaluates business function, division, or department activities. Develops and reviews budget expenditures. Oversees the work of others. Oversees the preparation of management and productivity reports and studies. Manages programs focusing on continuous process improvement. Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities. Provides final decisions on student appeals for dependency overrides and special circumstances, in compliance with Federal regulations. Researches and analyzes procedures and processes for changes in federal regulations and requirements. Evaluates awarding philosophy and ensures accuracy of Banner output. Assists with internal and external audits. Generates reports for University Departments and external requests. Oversees Government database security control of users, National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Common Origination Disbursement (COD), and financial aid administrator access to Central Processing System (CPS) updating. Oversees software upgrades, form changes, and gathering of student data. Assists Directors, Deans, and other University Department management personnel with financial aid issues. Attends meetings representing the Financial Aid and Scholarships Department. Assists students and parents with financial aid issues. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to manage business functions.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
