Medical Laboratory Technician- Student Health Center

The Student Health Center seeks a full-time individual who must evaluate, interpret, and make judgment calls regarding laboratory testing.  Performs testing procedures in all areas of a MD’s office laboratory including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, parasitology, electrocardiograms, and other special procedures.  Employee must follow all laboratory and medical policies and procedures related to testing including specimen collection, quality control, quality assurance, result verifications, reporting procedures, infection control, lab safety, and is accountable to the lab supervisor.  Must have EMR experience. The position is a day position with an occasional weekend duty on a rotating schedule.



Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications

    Associate degree from an accredited college approved Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT); Must be licensed as a MLT by the State of Tennessee Division of Health-Related Boards. Must have minimum of 2 years of experience in related laboratory setting.Certification as a MLT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
