Job Description:

As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a full-time 21st Century Scholar Program Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of 21st Century Scholars and is a key member of the 21st Century Scholar Office. The 21st Century Scholar Program Coordinator will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by coordinating admission events, providing individualized support to scholars, assisting in the implementation of scholar-focused programs, and collaborating with others to help ensure the academic success of Marian University’s 21st Century Scholar students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment and communication with prospective 21st Century Scholar students.
  • Manage the Marian University’s 21st Century Scholar scholarship selection process including coordination with the Office of Admissions, communication of scholarship timeline, scheduling all on-campus student interviews, management of scholarship documents, and organizing Scholarship selection committee.
  • Coordinate scholar-specific admission events, including Scholar Days and FAFSA Fridays.
  • Guide, monitor, and support 21st Century Scholars as they complete state requirements to maintain their scholarship.
  • Monitor academic progress for all Marian University 21st Century Scholar Students.
  • Serve as academic success coach to select 21st Century Scholars.
  • Organize on-campus events related to student success for 21st Century Scholars.
  • Assist with the creation and facilitation of weekly Marian University Student Success Seminars that include topics such as time management, balancing school/family/work, how to thrive in diverse environments, test taking strategies, how to be engaged in the classroom, and understanding personal learning styles.
  • Support the 21st Century Scholar early move-in orientation program.
  • Assist all first-year 21st Century Scholars in creating an academic success plan for their first year as a college student and educating students on how to successfully transition from high school to college.
  • Maintain office hours for walk-in appointments.
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Show courtesy and respect in interactions with fellow employees, student subordinates, and supervisors.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about Department issues.
  • Meet department productivity standards.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objective, and systems.
  • Assist to establish department measurements that align and support the accomplishment of the University’s strategic goals.
  • Adhere to the department budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution required, master’s degree in College Student Personal, Higher Education Administration, or related field preferred.
