This position provides technical and safety support to chairs, professors, graduate students, administration, and Environmental Health and Safety.

Responsible for purchasing, receiving, tracking and recycling chemicals and biochemicals.

Maintain EHS compliance and general lab safety regulations.

Monitor training compliance.

Train students in safety procedures and safe usage of lab items.

Maintain emergency signage.

Serve as Safety Officer for Schrenk Hall

Place orders for academic staff, reports progress on orders and updates status of deliveries

Logs deliveries and enters chemicals in ChemTrack software.

Distributes solvents to departments across campus as needed.

Maintains solvent room.

Orders equipment in support of the research, teaching and service missions of the Departments of Chemistry and Biological Sciences.

Other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a science degree with significant chemistry knowledge.

Experience working with and handling chemicals and biochemicals, waste management and lab safety compliance.

Experience with PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite
