Saint Francis University invites applications for a full time position of Associate Dean of Accreditation and Compliance. The Associate Dean is responsible to the Vice President of Academic Affairs to provide oversight and coordination of institutional accreditation, academic quality, assessment, and compliance processes, requirements, and programs. The Associate Dean promotes a culture of academic quality and compliance promoting the highest standards of ethics, integrity and responsibility within the University community consistent with the University vision, mission, and values.
In the area of accreditation, the Associate Dean serves as the Academic Liaison Coordinator (ALO) with Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and ensures compliance on the part of the University with criteria for accreditation, reporting, and submission of appropriate documents as needed. The Associate Dean, working with the VPAA, communicates with various personnel including, the President, President’s Council, Dean’s Council and if needed the academic affairs committee of the Board of Trustees as appropriate, to identify and assess areas of accreditation, assessment, academic quality and/or compliance risk. The goal of this position and of the University is to achieve and continuously maintain compliance with MSCHE as well as a variety of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and University Policies. Athletics compliance is not the responsibility of the Associate Dean; however, the Associate Dean should collaborate with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance as requested or needed. The Associate Dean collaborates with the VPAA to ensure implementation of the Academic Assessment Plan and the academic quality of learning and program offered by the University.
Qualifications: Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D, or other doctoral degree) from an accredited institution of higher education; at least three years’ experience overseeing accreditation, assessment, and or compliance programs at a college or university; at least three years’ experience implementing and/or assessing MSCHE criteria for accreditation; five years of professional experience in a compliance and assessment related field in higher education; university teaching and faculty experience; detail-oriented professional with the ability to read, interpret and analyze accreditation, state and federal regulations; familiarity with laws and regulations affecting institutions of higher education; experience with NC-SARA and related reporting; demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively as a member of a team; ability to lead and manage a team; advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office Suites; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills that reflect courtesy, ability to hold information in confidence, trust, diplomacy and a collaborative approach.
