Position Summary:

The Grant Compliance Officer is responsible for creating and maintaining databases of information sources, monitoring grant processes outlined in the MOA's, attending meetings and training workshops for specific grants, overseeing grant compliance in relation to grant guidelines in the MOA's, maintaining records as required in the MOA's. This position will work with the State GU System Office State Director and CT GU Fiscal Assistant to monitor and review fiscal analysis at the local level in relation to the state GU Office. Incumbents must possess a proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field together with one (1) year of experience working with grants; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for the successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:

    Dealing with multiple tasks simultaneouslyMemorandums of Agreements (MOA's), state purchasing processes, and budgetsMicrosoft Office, Word and Excel (pivot tables), as well as Adobe PDFReviewing key deliverables in contracts, grants, MOAs and providing analysis based on key deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with grant management and budgets that utilize online platforms for budgeting, communication, programming, and data collection.
  • Advanced computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for budget and financial forecasting.
Example of Job Duties:Under the direction of the GEAR UP Local Project Director, with assistance from the Accountant, GEAR UP Educational Assistant is responsible for the following duties:

    Maintaining records as required in the MOA’s.Overseeing grant expenditures as they relate to grant guidelines in the MOA's.Tracking all grant expenditures, encumbrances, and budget reporting.Balancing budget sheet while delivering up-to-date projections on each grant budget.Managing GEAR UP purchasing processes, including requisitions and invoices.Maintaining GEAR UP budget bookAssisting in the management of GEAR UP hiring and payroll processes.Managing In-Kind Match processes, including tracking facilities and material worksheets as well as requesting and tracking monthly personnel effort reports.Other duties as assigned that support GEAR UP programming.Maintaining knowledge and understanding of the Code of Federal Regulations relating to GEAR UP Section 403 GEAR UP Program through the U.S. Department of Education.

$32.14 hourly.
