Position Summary:The Continuing Education Aide assists in providing administrative services in support of the continuing education programs at a Community College. Quinebaug Valley Community College offers a broad array of credit and non-credit continuing education programs in addition to its traditional academic degree programs. These are intended to respond to the educational needs of the populations served by the College.

Incumbents must possess a proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:An Associate’s degree in an appropriately related field; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Example of Job Duties:Under the direction of the Director of Continuing Education, the Continuing Education Aide is responsible for contributing to the successful operation of the College’s continuing education programs by effective performance in these essential areas: assisting in student recruitment and enrollment strategies and providing information to the public about the College’s continuing education programs; contributing to the efficient and accurate registration of continuing education students; providing effective administrative services for the College’s continuing education programs.

In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Starting Salary:

$43,579 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
