Within the academic area of the college, perform the duties of a full-time faculty member and, in addition, plans, coordinates and supervises a specialized degree or certificate program. Working at a supervisory level.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Statistical software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Master’s Degree in Mathematics.
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
- Four (4) years of college teaching experience (96+ credit-hours)

- Experience teaching a full range of college-level Statistics and Math courses from the developmental level through multi-variable Calculus.
- At least one (1) year of using Statistics in a professional setting.
- An ability to develop and teach Statistics courses according to Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education (GAISE) guidelines in face-to-face and online environments using effective teaching techniques and technology.
- Experience objectively evaluating and assessing student learning, engagement, and teaching approaches.
- Experience in leadership in program and curriculum development and program review, classroom strategies, course assessments and academic advising.
- Experience integrating instructional technology.
- Experience developing and delivering distance learning courses.
- Experience integrating or developing open educational resources.
- Evidence of innovative teaching techniques.
- Experience with mentoring academically advanced students.
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Assistant Professor of Mathematics is expected to teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and will be responsible for teaching a range of Statistics and Mathematics courses (delivery systems can be lecture, hybrid and/or online). Evaluating and assessing student learning, providing student support and academic advising, planning, and executing program-related events, assisting with program reviews, developing curriculum, and periodically evaluating teaching materials, attending workshops and or conferences to maintain currency in profession and field. Per collective bargaining agreement, 6 credits out to the 30 (3 credits per semester) are released to perform administrative functions. Teaching schedule may include both day and evening classes. The Program Coordinator is also expected to recruit, advise and retain students in these areas; select appropriate part-time instructors; schedule the program courses; hiring and evaluating faculty; establishing and cultivating partnerships with local organizations and employers; arranging and supervising internships; assessing and improving and reviewing the program; and other such duties as may be appropriately assigned to a Program Coordinator in accordance within the contract hours and with regard to the collective bargaining agreement.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

$64,291 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
