The IT Business Analyst III, under direction, serves as technical lead for a specific business analysis project or service. Provides technical oversight for the application of and compliance with technical standards. Coordinates the technical activities of a systems analysis team. Completes reports and summaries for management and users including project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries.
Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications to support various enterprise applications departments (Admissions, Records, HR, Payroll, Finance, etc.), this position assists in the implementation and development of technology solutions. This position will provide advanced Banner support and development of technology solutions for business units and serve as a technical liaison between functional department managers, the Enterprise Applications team in the IT department and other University departments for the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications and related systems (reporting, data import/export, job scheduling, etc.)
Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead business analyst for the assigned applications and other related systems that integrate to it. Provide input into the business practices of functional units as requested by the department management. Work collaboratively with functional department staff to establish production schedules, resolve programmatic issues and implementation of system upgrades and enhancements. Meet routinely with department leadership and staff to ensure that department needs for application support are met.
As requested by department management, assist with department functions that require Banner support; e.g. routine batch processing, report generation and system integrations. Ensure that department staff have proper security access to application software and screens as deemed appropriate and necessary by the data owners. Assist with creation of appropriate workflow processes.
Ensure all applications and systems comply with regulatory requirements, campus rules, and procedures. Ensure data quality standards are maintained and reports are consistent. Assist in the development of quality control and test plans.
Maintain current knowledge of federal & state regulatory changes, reporting requirements, and other pertinent information related to applications and related systems. Make recommendations to management, as needed to maintain effective business operations and compliance. Assist in the implementation of the institutional reporting systems for State and Federal requirements.
Serve as liaison with other power users (Business Services, Student Affairs, Finaid and IR) and develop/maintain knowledge of application interface specifications impacting their assigned applications. Monitor vendor communication tools (websites, forums, listservs, etc.) for updates on software releases, filed cases, and documents.
Develop and maintain effective system documentation and end-user training for functional department staff.
Attend professional development (webinars, workshops, vendor conferences) and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements - Education & Experience:
Education –Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Five years of related experience in business analysis.
Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of project management, mentoring, negotiation skills, basic vendor relations, advanced client relations skills, proposal writing, business acumen, persuasive communication, team leadership skills, and quality assurance methodologies.
Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
