Nature of Work

The University of Colorado Denver, Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a radiation oncologist to work within the University of Colorado Health System at Longs Peak Hospital.   The position includes general radiation oncology clinical responsibilities as well as an expectation of contribution to the department’s overall academic missions. 

Professional Field

This position requires the completion of a residency in radiation oncology.  This position requires someone to be able to obtain licensure for the practice of medicine within the State of Colorado and obtain privileges at our participating hospitals.

Supervision Received

The successful faculty candidate reports to the Chair of Radiation Oncology

Supervision Exercised

The successful candidate will play a role in overseeing the activities of support staff within the department, to include input on hiring decisions.

Examples of Work Performed

The radiation oncologist in the position is expected to evaluate and manage patients with cancer and certain benign neoplasms. Participation in departmental peer review processes and also multi-disciplinary tumor board and clinics is also expected.

Salary Range

The salary range has been established for the following positions at 1.00 FTW.

Assistant Professor $325,000 to $375,000

Associate Professor $350,000 to $450,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Assistant Professor:

  • Education: successful completion of an ACGME-accredited radiation oncology residency and ABR Board Certification
Associate Professor:

  • Education: successful completion of an ACGME-accredited radiation oncology residency and ABR Board Certification
Preferred Qualifications

Assistant Professor

  • Experience: at least 3 years post-residency clinical experience  
Associate Professor

  • Experience: at least 5 years post-residency clinical experience
