The department of Computer Science & Mathematics is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development and academic advising.

Prospective candidates must have earned a PhD in Computer Science from a well-recognized University, and have an excellent publication record with evidence of success in securing external funding for grants. Experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate Computer Science courses 
  • Engage in scholarly work and research
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Supervise capstone projects and MSc Thesis students
  • Engage in service to the department, the university and the profession
  • Contribute to the development of the program and seek external grants
  • Additional duties may be set by the department in light of departmental needs and priorities

The Department of Computer Science & Mathematics is one of the seven departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a B.S. in Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Mathematics, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied and Computational Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science.

LAU has two campuses, one in Beirut and the other in Byblos, about 35 kilometers north of Beirut. (NECHE).
