Detailed Description:	
The Office of Parking Services is committed to supporting the University of San Diego's Mission Statement by creating a helpful and welcoming environment through the delivery of excellent service. We provide guidance and assistance to the campus community on all parking-related needs in a timely and efficient manner; provide safe, well-maintained parking facilities while ensuring equitable parking for all our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work closely with various department managers with regard to special events, including: athletic events, weddings, funerals, conferences and student organizations. Ensure parking for each event is handled promptly and with accuracy.
Arrange necessary signage, flags, barricades, maps or permits needed for any parking purposes or events; ensure correct verbiage is used on all written materials, such as professional sporting events, concerts, dignitaries, etc.
Maintain and assign reserved parking spaces for special guests using Event Management System (EMS) software.
Coordinate reserved permit, special visitor, conference, vendor and contractor parking according to established policies and procedures; informs requesting parties of accommodations and limitations; provides necessary permit, pass or decal. Additionally, process payment as needed for these permits
Process each event requests with awareness of the impact it may have on the campus.
Provide general campus information and assistance to University students, staff, faculty, administrators, guests and visitors; handle parking and traffic complaints and concerns of campus community and guests with tact and diplomacy.
Using NuPark software application, enter written parking citation and appeal data; import Cashier Office payment report.
High attention to detail in regards to the needs of the kiosks and office (permits, office supplies, etc.)
Give daily direction and assignments to student employees as needed.
Process parking permit refunds within the university cashiering system.
Assist system analyst with updating website information for Parking Services.
Assist in creating links for special event permits as necessary, to be sent to event coordinators as necessary.
Coordinate Security Staffing Company as needed for special events. This includes placing the initial order with Security staffing company, confirming with the event coordinator, and ensuring that Security staffing company as well as the campus staff (kiosk, office staff, and Public Safety) are aware that Security staffing company has been requested.
Provide general office support, including but not limited to: answering phone calls, issuing permits (both printable and sticker), handling questions from students, faculty, and staff as necessary, and completing any other tasks as needed.
Promote sustainability efforts of the University by promoting the use of rideshare programs, such as Zimride and SuperShuttle.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent GED; AND
Three year of general office or customer service related experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional education work experience substituting for the required on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to speak Spanish to assist employees, students and visitors/vendors preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Ability to initiate, coordinate, oversee and complete various projects with minimal supervision.
Skill and ability to communicate effectively on the telephone, in person and in writing; possess excellent interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy to work with a diverse campus community, including parents, students, trustees, administrators, staff employees, visitors, guests, and vendors; possess skills in conflict resolution, decision-making, and implementation skills; skill and ability in current general office methods and practices.
Skill to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and manage time effectively with flexibility to adapt to changing conditions; ability to remain calm under pressure; think clearly and logically using sound judgment; ability to multi-task as necessary.
Familiar with University policies and procedures as well as Parking Rules & Regulations
Ability to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of activities or job duties in the general office.
Ability to effectively carry out event goals in a manner that enhances the image of the University.
Ability to effectively multi-task, while ensuring that excellent customer service is provided at all times.
Demonstrate integrity, dependability, sound judgment, team building, and resourcefulness to establish and maintain collaborative, positive and effective working relationships with multiple diverse constituency groups.
Excellent skills in the use of specific equipment and tools as identified below.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Must be able to work flexible hours including occasional overtime as needed.

Posting Salary:	
$16.27-$18.75 per hour; Excellent Benefits
