AU invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Chief, Faculty Relations and Research. The individual selected will be responsible for supporting military and civilian faculty endeavors, including implementing faculty development programs, assisting with the onboarding and hiring process, coordinating research protocols, collecting data, and implementing innovative and emerging practices in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
The Chief of Faculty Relations and Research serves in the Academic Affairs Office and provides counsel and advice to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and Chief Academic Affairs (CAA) on faculty-related matters. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between and among the AU faculty, faculty senate, and Teaching and Learning Center in relation to faculty matters. The candidate will assist in preparing and maintaining faculty documents in regard to appointments, reappointments and promotions, recruitment, and submission of accurate dossiers for final review. Assists in the appointment and reappointment credentialing for permanent faculty, department chairs, adjuncts, and visiting faculty. Prepares reports, written correspondence, and briefings, as required.
The incumbent will coordinate with campus leaders to coordinate institutional educational and assessment initiatives and evaluate diversity goals by developing metrics/scorecards and tracking progress. Reviews, assesses, measures, and stays abreast of efforts using a climate or similar study to meet the institution's social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression goals and use results to drive strategic planning and stay informed of equity inclusion and discrimination. Works closely with school leadership to foster an environment of academic excellence, collaboration, diversity, and inclusiveness.
