Overview

The Associate Administrative Assistant will provide general support for all key staff/faculty members including, but not limited to scheduling and maintaining appointments and travel arrangements. Must be able and willing to work evening and weekend assignments when required.

Responsibilities
  • Manages both incoming and outgoing correspondence via email, fax, and postal services.
  • Files/records scholarship contracts, community service logs, freshman programs and attendance.
  • Serves as Honors Council Co-Advisor, maintaining meeting minutes, budget reports, allocation reports, and letters/memos for retrieval.
  • Composes letters and memoranda concerning routine matters, type general correspondence/ reports, and prepare e-requisitions.
  • Creates/designs brochures, posters, bulletin boards, and other specialized materials for the purpose of promoting the University and its programs.
  • Coordinates and processes travel arrangements for conferences and workshops.
  • Performs all other duties assigned within the scope of this position.  
Qualifications
  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited university or college in Administrative Office Technology or Business is required.
  • Two years’ experience as an administrative assistant.
  • Must be knowledgeable of office practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and database applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing the Internet as a research and communication tool.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge in grammatical rules, spelling, and language usage.
  • Possess advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Possess the ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
