Job Description Summary

The Ticket Sales & Service Associate provides customer service, conflict resolution, and enforcement of NCAA regulations related to the sale of tickets to intercollegiate athletic events and non-intercollegiate events. They will perform prospecting and consultative selling via outbound phone calls and in-person sales. The Associate will receive commission on specified sales efforts and have responsibilities for revenue generation through a ticket sales and annual fund prospects portfolio while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the athletic ticket office.
This position will serve 50% of their time in an operations/service environment and 50% in a sales environment.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Meets or exceeds sales goals by initiating outbound phone contact with prospective ticket buyers and selling ticketing solutions.
  • Provides customer service to walk-up customers at Ticket Office window; responds to customer questions and telephone inquiries. Researches, investigates, and resolves problems as they occur.
  • Sells and prints tickets on Paciolan and Ticketmaster ticketing software for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, and non-intercollegiate events.
  • Authorizes and processes credit card sales, accepts cash or checks, and applies payment to the Paciolan and Ticketmaster systems.
  • Maintains up-to-date digital records of leads, prospects, sales activities, and customer account information using Wake Forest Ticket Office computer tools and databases.
  • Responsible for ticket operations management for events and home games for Wake Forest Athletics. Assists with other University projects and events as needed.
  • Adheres to NCAA regulations regarding ticket sales at home athletic contests to include recruits, high school coaches, players’ families, general public, boosters, and donors.
  • Reports any potential ACC and NCAA rules violations to the Assistant AD of Ticket Operations or Compliance Office.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Training

  • BA/BS with working knowledge of sales and customer service and one year experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Unquestionable integrity and a strong sense of professional ethics.
  • Knowledge and ability to execute a consultative sales process from lead generation to implementation and customer support.
  • Evidence of being self-starting, self-motivating, organized, entrepreneurial and creative in formulating and presenting solutions to customers over the phone.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software solutions. Experience with Paciolan or Ticketmaster systems preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills including listening, clear communication, empathy, adaptability, and patience.
  • Ability to research and organize information and data accurately and with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and to execute multiple tasks in a time-sensitive, pressurized environment.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules as they pertain to intercollegiate ticket operations.
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with varied constituents; general public, students, coaches, administrators.
  • Ability to handle cash, checks and credit card sales.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.
Physical Requirements

Light work. Balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, hearing, talking. Close visual acuity. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
