    Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant


    This position will be a Track and Field assistant coach for Strength and Conditioning. This position will assist the Head Coach in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the Concordia University's Irvine Track and Field program. Coaching includes assisting the Head Coach in instruction of all strength and condition/weight room lifts, techniques, and applications; program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Coach. This position adheres to the policies set forth by Head Coach and Athletic Director, as well as Concordia University Irvine, the PacWest Conference and NCAA.

    POSITION DUTIES:

    COACHING:

      Oversees the entire CUI Track and Field/Cross Country weight room time. Managing each group appropriately while teaching and supervising.
    • Provides consultation and expert advice to Head Coach in Strength and Conditioning along with Coach Woods.
    • Prepares, plans, conducts, and evaluates practice sessions, as directed by Head Coach and with assistance from the other assistant coaches in the weight room.
      • Teaches individuals and groups of student-athletes specific tasks and skills before, during and after practice, during season and off-season.This position is available to coaches and student-athletes during and after practices and events.Will be on time and attend all practices/meets unless previous arrangements have been made with Head Coach (Head Coach Discretion)
    • Failure to do so will result in disciplinary actions
    RECRUITMENT:
    • Follow all NCAA and Concordia University Irvine's recruiting policies.
    • Will be NCAA certified to recruit off Campus
    TEAM ADMINISTRATION:
      Follows CUI procedures in handling any monies that flow through the athletic program.Will oversee the organization and cleanliness of the CUI Track and Field/Cross Country weight room after each session. Ensuring it is maintained to the highest standard.Plans long and short term team objectives under the leadership of the Head Coach. Advising what equipment is needed, wanted.Administers day to day operations as directed by the Head Coach.
