Schedule Information: Monday thru Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Hours per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions: Must occasionally lift boxes of materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Regularly transport materials to off-campus events and activities.  Must set up equipment and materials at both on and off campus events. 

Duties of Position: Responsible for student outreach activities aimed at the general adult prospective student populations who live and work within the Harper District. Special emphasis will be placed on identifying, connecting with and supporting underrepresented adult student populations.

Develops and implements an annual adult student recruitment plan designed to increase Harper College awareness and increase prospective student inquiries within key target markets. Plan should include specific quarterly student engagement schedule of activities and lead goals.

Manages utilization of the Harper College mobile unit and schedule/coordinate community events throughout the year.

In conjunction with the Harper College Community Relations Manager, works with community organizations and associations to increase adult student inquiries. Target community organizations include but are not limited to churches, community centers, libraries, alternative schools and cultural events within the community. 

In conjunction with the Harper College Community Relations Manager, identifies and meets with local business organizations and corporations to determine employee professional development/educational needs and conduct engagement opportunities during lunch time or employee shift changes.

Supports Admissions Outreach events and processes during peak times as needed.

Participates on local, state and regional organizations who are addressing the needs of the adult student population and bring best practices back to the College.

Records and tracks student prospect information in the Banner student information system.

Works closely with key Harper College departments including the Academic Affairs, Admissions Processing, Community Relations, Workforce Development, Marketing Services, Counseling, Student Development, the Onestop and Financial Aid to assure effective student communication.

Expands the Harper Admissions Outreach presence at the Learning and Career Center, Harper Professional Center and Education and Work Center.

Receives and manages related information meeting RSVP and follow up process. Participates and attends all scheduled events. Provides post information session report within 24 hours of event completion.

Provides critical summary reports on all activities including adult student inquiries, meetings and event results.  

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, communication or related field required.

Experience Requirements: 3+ years’ experience in educational recruiting or community/business development planning preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail essential. Must possess strong presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual preferred.
