The Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology is the second largest engineering college in Georgia with nearly 5,000 students. The Engineering Technology Department consists of 400 students and over 14 full-time faculty members who are committed to student success. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a ful-time, nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Technology faculty position beginning January 2021. Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching and service work with an emphasis on enhancing the teaching mission of the Department.
The appointment is for 9-months but has the possibility of teaching opportunities in the summer. The teaching load is nine courses per academic year (fall and spring semesters). Courses are taught on the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Required Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. An earned doctoral degree in engineering or closely related field, or its foreign equivalent, is preferred. Significant relevant work experience, college level teaching, and online teaching are pluses.
The ideal candidate should have an area of specialization in engineering design graphics, mechanics, welding, machining, and/or manufacturing.
Preferred qualifications include: Industry experience and/or Professional Engineering license.
Experience teaching in various instructional modalities.
