Description of Position

Primary individual responsible for day-to-day cybersecurity threat analysis, incident response, and vulnerability remediation to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Yavapai College digital data. The ISA-SOC will use tools and technologies including vulnerability analysis software, network traffic analysis, SIEM (security information event management) systems, endpoint protection platforms, network access control systems, and firewalls to support prompt analysis and response to threats and information security incidents.

This position will be responsible for coordinating and working with other members of the IT incident response team, the IT cross-functional security operations group (including Helpdesk and Systems/Network Services), and with all College constituents including faculty, staff, students, partners, and community members.

- Conduct vulnerability analysis and coordinate mitigation and response efforts. Administer the vulnerability assessment tools.
- Conduct incident analysis and response using user entity behavior analytics, network threat analysis, intrusion detection system/intrusion protection systems, endpoint protection platforms, next generation firewall tools.
- Create, customize, and analyze reports via SIEM and other tools. Address performance, compliance, and security concerns related to SIEM tools.
- Configure, test, and audit configurations of information security-related hardware/software, including (but not limited to) IPS/IDS, NGFW, EPP, etc.
- Deliver security awareness training, support phishing awareness activities, conduct forensic data/malware analysis.
- Assist in maintaining YC Cybersecurity Website and Knowledge Base.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive incidents and information.
- Develop a working knowledge of digital evidence retrieval, documentation, and evidence control.
- Assist with compliance and enforcement.
- Maintain proficiency in cybersecurity trends and issue. Participate in continuing education in cybersecurity with a focus on vulnerability and threat identification, mitigation, incident response, and security assessment/penetration testing.Minimum Expectations & Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional work experience
- Ability to work closely with internal department administrators
- Ability to work independently to conduct vulnerability analyses
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties

Preferred Skills & Abilities

- Education and experience beyond the minimum qualifications with recent leadership experience
- Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment
