The Office of Internationalization (INTZ) provides leadership and support for the University of Denvers efforts to internationalize the campus. At DU, students and scholars from overseas are part of our community, and all our faculty and students are encouraged to study, research, collaborate and offer service in a global context.

The Office of International Education, which is part of DUs Internationalization unit, serves primarily undergraduate students interested in education abroad term-length programs. The OIE manages a portfolio of over 150 programs in 52 countries and advises roughly 1000 students/year who are interested in participating on DU Partner Programs and/or unaffiliated programs.

Position Summary
This entry position in the Office of International Education (OIE) provides administrative and programmatic support for education abroad efforts.

Essential Functions

  • Study Abroad Program Coordination & Support
  • Support OIE efforts in programmatic outreach, event planning, pre-departure orientations, marketing and promotion and other efforts that expand education abroad efforts.
  • Coordinate processes and maintain systems for study abroad administration cycle, including: application review, registration, withdrawals, judicial conduct tracking, etc. Work closely with the Registrars department and Financial Aid to ensure proper compliance.
  • Assists with the administration for the Cherrington Global Scholar benefit, including travel coordination and other tasks as assigned.
  • Support other administration functions in the unit as needed and/or directed.
  • Organize and operate processes for data sets for internal surveys, outside surveys and Open Doors reporting (national reporting).
  • Study Abroad Advising
  • Advise students in the selection of appropriate international education opportunities.
  • Serve as point of contact for various study abroad programs as assigned.
  • Coordinate with partners abroad and with prospective and enrolled study abroad students.
  • Support other associated advising tasks as needed.
  • Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in related field (i.e. international education, international business, international/intercultural communications, sociology, etc.) or the equivalent in experience and education. Veterans with equivalent combination of military certification/education and experience may substitute for the degree qualification.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Study Abroad programming experience strongly preferred, as is experience living or studying abroad.
    • One year of working in an education abroad office or advising university students.

    Work Schedule
    Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Salary Grade Number
    The salary grade for the position is 7.

    Salary Range
    The salary range for this position is $42,000 - $48,000.

    The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
