Prairie State College is a richly diverse community college located 30 minutes south of Chicago. The College serves over 5,000 students through its credit programs and offers a wide range of associate degrees and certificates, all of which feature student-centered instruction. In addition, the College offers workforce education, ESL and GED programs, and continuing, corporate and professional education.

Our 37-acre campus in Chicago Heights features “smart” classrooms, modern laboratories, a Business and Community Education Center, an Adult Education Outreach Center, and a spacious new Fitness Complex. In order to meet community needs, courses are also offered at our Matteson Area Center and at local businesses, community centers, and schools.

The College provides a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, tuition reimbursement for administrators and staff, free courses in our Fitness Center, and an optional 403(b) plan in addition to a comprehensive retirement plan through the State University Retirement System. Employees can enroll their children in our state-of-the-art Children’s Learning Center for a modest fee.
