Job Details

The mission of the Academic Advising Office is to create an inclusive environment that empowers undergraduate students to successfully transition into college, take ownership over their education, pursue academic interests, engage in learning, and develop a comprehensive network of resources to persist to graduation.

  • Empower students to take ownership over their education through comprehensive transition and graduation plans

Position Summary
This position reports directly to the Executive Director for Academic Advising and works closely with the Faculty Director of Advising to provide advising support for the faculty advising model in the Departments of Psychology, Biological Sciences, and others as needed. Working alongside staff and faculty, this position ensures that undergraduate majors and minors are advised regularly and accurately, advising is well-documented, that academic course listings are correct, and that student interests and concerns are communicated to faculty, coordinators of departmental curricula and others as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, counseling, or related field.
  • Experience working with faculty, staff, parents/guardian and students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of full-time post-baccalaureate experience (or equivalent) in an educational setting.
  • M.A. in psychology, counseling, social work, higher education, or related field.
  • Experience in college advising.
  • Knowledge of learning strategies, academic coaching, developmental advising models, and student development theories.
  • Experience with educational programming and outreach.
  • Proficiency in Banner.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade for the position is 7.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
