The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (CUSDM) is seeking outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure track position as the Department Chair of Surgical Dentistry at the level of Associate Professor/Professor.  This position requires that the candidate be a board-certified endodontist with experience in leading an endodontic division as well as other faculty units.  Exceptional credentials must include excellence in teaching awards and a record of clinical innovation and implementation of program change. This position reports to the Dean of the CUSDM.  Responsibilities include strategic planning and administration of the department; scholarly activities; oversight and supervision of clinical initiatives in the Department of Surgical Dentistry; collaboration with the leadership of the clinical affairs unit of the CUSDM.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at: 

Job Family: Clinical Associate Professor (C/T) - 1212
Salary Range:  $145,000 - $175,000

Job Family:  Clinical Professor – 1211
Salary Range:  $199,000 -   $239,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
•    Associate Professor:
o    A DDS/DMD degree, or its equivalent, is required along with eligibility for dental licensure in Colorado.
o    A specialty certificate in periodontics, along with board qualification in periodontics, is required 
o    At this rank, applicants will be well qualified to teach and/or provide clinical care with considerable demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.
•    Professor:
o    A DDS/DMD degree, or its equivalent, is required along with eligibility for dental licensure in Colorado.
o    A specialty certificate in periodontics, along with board qualification in periodontics, is required 
o    At this rank, applicants will have a record of outstanding accomplishments in teaching, and/or providing clinical care, a record of leadership in the school or practice, and a meritorious leadership and service record.

•    Successful candidates will have experience and demonstrate inclusivity while working in a diverse academic, research and clinical community.  
•    Demonstrated leadership, organizational and communication skills are required.
