The Coordinator will manage workforce development programs including the Texas Talent Connection grant-funded program -- Texas Two Step for Women in Technology including the Mission: Future and MindEdge Online Professional Education Courses in order to carry out the mission of the Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement (Mays Center). The Coordinator will oversee participant registration, admission, instruction and evaluation.
This is a grant funded position. Grant funded positions are term limited and contingent upon available grant funding.
Roles and Responsibilities:Oversee the development, management and coordination of workforce development and continuing education programs, including registration, instructor recruitment, and maintaining key partnerships.
Develop, promote, administer, and evaluate the success of the Workforce Development workshops.
Manage the online registration process for Workforce Development programs, including updating website when appropriate.
Present curriculum and coordinating session logistics for both on and off campus, including virtual presentations.
Create effective, unique content for website, presentation materials, and handouts.
Assisting with communication and follow-up with program participants Assisting with the development, promotion, administration, and interpretation of surveys.
Evaluating the effectiveness of Workforce Development presentations and print materials, and when necessary, revise such materials
Expanding the Workforce Development brand through community organizations
Successfully represent the Mays Center on committees, in the classroom, and in the community with a strong professional presence. Participates in organizations and groups that will enhance the development of employment opportunities.
Monitors program budgets, grant reports, and managing and monitoring expenditures. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and recommends improvements or changes.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality. Complies with all A&M-SA University policies and guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervision:Received: Under limited supervision from the Director of Employer Relations and Community Outreach. Proceeds on own initiative within policy limits set by supervisor.
Given: Will supervise student and part-time support staff.
Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field
Three years of related work experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree.
Two years of experience in higher education, workforce development, community relations or other related experience.
Must have the ability to effectively interact with the general public, staff and employer representatives.
Experience in developing and facilitating workshops; developing and delivering presentations, and exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to organize and work independently as a leader and as part of a team and a strong commitment to cultural diversity.
Experience in coordinating workforce development and continuing education programs.
A working knowledge of risk management issues within an academic setting. Experience in developing and maintaining programs is preferred.
Bilingual – English and Spanish is helpful.
Experience utilizing client management tools such as TWIST, Signify, or equivalent Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, and policies applicable to workforce development.
Familiarity with contract management of federal, state, local grants preferred
