The Admissions & Recruitment Counselor - in a temporary role - assists with all aspects of the J.D. and Graduate (LL.M. & S.J.D.) admissions processes. In addition to reviewing and rendering decisions on applications, they represent the law school at recruitment fairs, forums, and panels; counsel students regarding the admissions process; develop and implement strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions, and working with Office of Admissions' managers, the Admissions & Recruitment Counselor has duties that include but are not limited to:

Application Review and Decision Rendering
  • Assist in the review and rendering of decisions for 14,000+ JD and Graduate applications received annually
  • Assist with J.D. and LLM scholarship review process
  • Assist with management of Alumni Admissions Interview Program
  • Assist with Faculty and Student Admissions Committee


Recruitment
  • Represent Georgetown at recruitment fairs, law forums, and panels (both virtual and in-person)
  • Present at on-campus and virtual information sessions
  • Develop and implement strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective law students
  • Develop and implement initiatives to recruit a diverse class of law students
  • Conduct applicant interviews


Counseling

Counsel prospective and admitted students on the law school admissions process

Technology and Publications
  • Assist with the publication of print and online marketing materials
  • Assist with website, email, and social media outreach and marketing


Qualifications
  • J.D.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Ability to work successfully with a wide population, including applicants, alumni, faculty, staff and students
  • Availability and willingness to work occasional evening and weekend events and to travel for seasonal recruiting


Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with student information systems or similar databases
  • Working knowledge of web development technologies and emerging social media
  • Experience working in a very fast-paced environment
  • Strong multitasking abilities


This position is full time for a period of six months.
