General Statement of Job


To provide districtwide, regional, or campus clerical and administrative support for Student Accessibility Services (SAS).Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Provides clerical and administrative support in a variety of SAS functions, including student intake, student testing, direct support to students, and to SAS staff through various tasks including, but not limited to data entry, copying, filing, maintaining inventories, and processing documents and paperwork.
  • Provides information at the campus, regional, or district level regarding SAS services. Responds to general inquiries in person, by telephone or via email.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of student files by reviewing and updating as necessary.
  • Compiles data and reports pertaining to students with disabilities being served by SAS. Maintains and updates student information database and files as needed.
  • Manages and updates SAS calendars, spreadsheets, and documents.
  • Provides general information on equipment and assistive technology to students. Tracks and maintains loan equipment spreadsheet.
  • Requests and orders alternative format books and other accessible material as needed.
  • May schedule campus-based appointments for students to discuss services or to review services being provided.
  • May oversee the work of hourly employees or work study students.
  • Additional Job Specific Duties


    Schedules test on district/regional calendar, reviews testing accommodations, uploads accommodation letter to calendar event.Reviews exam request to determine what accommodations are needed, where the test is located, or if professor should be contacted.Contacts faculty to secure test via test request in order to collect instructions for administering the exam. Works with individual campuses to provide accommodations if necessary.Converts exam to appropriate alternative format for student.Checks student in for proctoring, distributes test materials, monitors area, collects test materials at end of testing period, reports scholastic dishonesty to testing center supervisor and SAS Director following institutional guidelines.Confirms testing instructions, materials allowed and disposition of completed exam.Responds to faculty and staff inquiries to ensure timely and accurate administration of exams.Keys statistical data such as number of tests taken, mailed, picked up, etc. Returns exams per faculty instructionKnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.


    Knowledge and ability to follow common office policies and procedures. Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications and Google applications.   • Associate degree.

    Four years of related work experience may substitute for this education requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet the education requirement must use additional related work experience to meet the years of "Required Work Experience" for this position.
