Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Department of Early, Middle and Exceptional Education at time needs temporary, part-time instructors to teach courses and/or supervise student teachers.

The Department of Early, Middle and Exceptional Education, in the School of Education, is comprised of 19 faculty members and one support staff. The department offers programs in Early Childhood Education, Middle Level Education, Early Childhood/Special Education, Gifted Education Certification, ESL, Reading and Language Arts Master’s degree program and Post Bacc Certification program and master’s in ERCH.

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Elementary Education or related field. At least five years full-time teaching experience in U.S. schools. Successful preschool or public school experience. Prior experience teaching course content or related topics. Experience working in diverse settings. Successful interview and teaching demonstration. Three Successful background checks: Act 34 (Criminal Record Check); Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting); and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).
