Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Sociology/Anthropology department occasionally needs temporary, part-time instructors to teach sociology courses at the undergraduate level. Current needs include temporary, part-time instructors who can teach Social Statistics, Topics in Criminology, Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of the Family or Sociology of Disaster.

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and materials are reviewed when an instructor is needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Sociology with three years of teaching experience or ABD/PhD.
  • Evidence of commitment to working in a diverse environment.

*Successful interview, teaching demonstration and three successful background checks: Act 34 (Criminal Record Check); Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting); and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Sociology.
