    The Program Coordinator plans, develops, and implements, and advises on programs, services, activities and processes for students in their non-academic life at the university, specifically campus organizations and volunteer programs. This position is responsible for the planning and coordination of large-scale community events like the Anteater Involvement Fair and Anteater Awards. This position is responsible for program development, outreach, workshops, departmental marketing, and risk management education to over 600 Registered Campus Organizations (RCOs). This position also provides support to the Director of Campus Organizations & Volunteer Programs (COVP) for program coordination and assessment, including volunteer and service activities, supervision of Campus Organizations Activities Coordinators, student intern team, and the development of marketing materials and social media management for the department.

    Required:

    Knowledge of student development theory and ‘theory into practice' techniques. Knowledge of how to assist students with their professional development. Experience managing a diverse group of students. Able to coordinate an educational workshop (using universal design method) and facilitate a discussion. Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively and cooperatively with students, staff, faculty, campus administrators, and off-campus entities. Able to develop productive relationships with students, faculty and staff. Strong editing and writing skills, grammar and punctuation to edit publication material. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize a heavy workload, with multiple deadlines, and competing requests for service. Ability to work with various computer programs (i.e., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel). Able to create student-friendly brochures, flyers, and/or any additional promotion materials. Experience coordinating events for over 50 participants. Ability to maintain the privacy of student, faculty, and staff personnel. Demonstrate critical thinking skills to initiate improvements in operations and situations based on independent analysis, problem solving, and benchmarking.

    Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

    Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. . Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills. Interpersonal skills. Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs, including Adobe software Skills in service orientation, active listening, and critical thinking. Abilities in problem identification, reasoning. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and project milestones.

    Preferred:

    Skills in creating and implementing student activities and resources, including assessment. Demonstrated effective supervision of student staff. Knowledge of University processes and procedures. Understanding of University rules and regulations.
