This role provides direct support to the Director, Career Planning and Development and NOVA Career Counselors to coordinate logistics, implementation, and communication of career development programs and other business engagement initiatives as needed. Acts as a liaison to students, employers, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries related to career planning and development events, programs, and workshops. Frequently collaborates with Employer Recruitment Services team to ensure coordination and promotion of events. Tracks attendance, survey outcomes, and other key performance indicators. The Program Specialist will maintain the Career Planning and Development events calendar and provide reports to division leadership on event outcomes as requested. This position will also directly support the marketing and communication of events.Special Assignments:
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
• Ability to develop and prepare reports
• Ability to work on multiple projects independently and work well in a team environment.
• Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Zoom, and learn new software.
• Knowledge of higher education privacy policies and experience handling confidential information in accordance with privacy policies
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Some administrative office experience. Some experience in event coordination.
Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience in a higher education setting.
