DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
The Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) seeks a dynamic individual to serve as its Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute marketing and communications strategies that enhance the visibility and reputation of YWCC among key audiences. The Director will support the overall marketing and promotion of the College, including its enrollment, degree programs, research activities, corporate relations, student achievements, alumni profiles and major events. The Director will be charged with increasing the visibility of the College among potential students (thus supporting enrollment growth), peers in the academic community, alumni and the local and national tech community. A significant piece of the Director’s overall marketing and promotion efforts will center on “[email protected],” the university’s satellite location offering graduate programs in computing located just across the Hudson River from the financial district of Lower Manhattan in New York City, where it serves the many working professionals in that region.
Reporting directly to the Dean of the College and working in close consultation with NJIT’s Office of Strategic Communications and Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management, the Director will
promote the College through the use of marketing collateral, the College website, social media, the College newsletter, other College publications, events, cultivation of positive publicity, and other tactics, as appropriate.
The Director will work in close coordination with the NJIT Office of Strategic Communications and the NJIT Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management to schedule action plans, assure maintenance of NJIT brand standards, avoid duplication of efforts and assess strategies and tactics used to achieve goals.
The successful applicant will have initiative, innovation, ingenuity and creativity. S/he will have several or all of the following skills: media relations, writing, analytics, creative marketing and digital publishing.
Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field is required as well as some marketing or communications experience in Higher Education.

Demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines and balance multiple projects.
